These are two of my favourite things to use.

• Over the years I have tried and tested many black acrylic paints, ranging from cheap ones that I bought from affordable shops, such as BnM and Home Bargains, to the more expensive Daler and Rowney, and Winsor and Newton. As the majority of my mixed media creations have a black base, I now only ever use one product. This is the Pebeo black gesso. It is perfect to cover all the materials I use, especially metal, with even just one coat.

• My favourite adhesive for paper is the matt Mod Podge. I have and still use the gloss one, but I prefer the matt one while I seal a layer before adding other materials on top.
